About Us

Since the earliest days of St Mary's, volunteer parishioners and parents have rallied at working bees to develop the Parish  facilities through general maintenance and specific projects.  The MaD Committee was formalised in 1980 and it's aim was to make St Mary's facilities and grounds a safe and enjoyable environment for the parish community.

Countless men and women have been involved in the building and maintenance of the numerous facilities.  The Committee has been supported by a number of people who help prepare for working bees, provide refreshments for the workers and helping out at Parish and school functions such as Tree Planting Day, School Fete and Parish BBQ just to name a few.  Along the way the MaD Committee has worked closely with the Parish Priest and School Principal to plan and develop the facilities and assets for future families.

President - John Wood

I have been involved with Saint Mary's and the Maintenance Committee for sometime. I think it is very important that we work together and provide our community / children with some of the best facilities around. I really enjoy seeing our community working together to achieve this.

Secretery - Phill Goulding

My first experience at St Mary's Parish was as a student in the 70'd.  I have now been involved with the school and MaD Committee for 6 years.  I have made many personal friendships whilst on the Committee. Being a member of MaD has been very rewarding and it's great to see the kids having fun during working bees. I really enjoy seeing the enjoyment on peoples faces as they become involved in our working bee's - they are really lots of fun and you always feel good reviewing the improvement to the Parish as a result of your work.
